Project Talent Advocate: For Our Managers, People, and Clients
Talent is the most important area for a company to focus on in its quest to deliver outstanding services and solutions to its clients. Finding new ways to build this into our company infrastructure and allowing it to take root takes strategic thinking and tactical execution.
To increase employee engagement with the company and satisfaction with project work and professional development, Arc Aspicio has recently launched Project Talent Advocate. This innovative talent program designed to increase employee engagement and retention includes the assignment of dedicated Talent Advocate for each of our project to provide team attention and support project managers as they develop their team members. The program identifies ways to increase company stewardship.
Advocates are dedicated talent specialists that support the full talent lifecycle needs across a project. Talent Advocates meet with our Project Managers regularly to discuss strategic staffing opportunities and provide advice and coaching talent objectives. They serve as employees’ designated point of contact for all HR issues and questions, and work with employees’ supervisors to determine appropriate professional development activities. Talent Advocates host periodic team meetings with their assigned project teams to build strong relationships and learn about project activities and accomplishments.
We just wrapped up a pilot of the program and are now expanding it to all projects within the company. The pilot highlighted several benefits of the program:
- Increased employee engagement
- Stronger skills and mission knowledge among employees
- Stronger supervision and leadership skills among project managers
- More cohesive, productive teams
The program also provides unique benefits for our clients.
- Projects are on schedule and on budget
- High retention of project staff, knowledge, and relationships
- Team members with relevant, mission-critical skills
