Arc Aspicio Joins the National Preparedness Month 2009 Coalition
Arlington, VA, September 1, 2009 – Arc Aspicio has joined the Sixth Annual National Preparedness Month (NPM) Coalition to be a model small business, prepared for any emergency. To join the coalition, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) required that the company commit to support preparedness activities.
NPM 2009 is focused on helping Americans understand what it truly means to be Ready, which includes specific items to include in kits, making a plan, being informed and getting involved. In preparation for NPM 2009, Arc Aspicio recently published a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
The company will be reviewing the COOP and hosting a company-wide H1N1 pandemic exercise for its employees during the month of September. The objective of the plan is to be prepared for and efficiently respond to a range of emergencies, and to quickly resume service to our clients.
“Since our major client is the Department of Homeland Security, it is critical that our company and employees are prepared for any emergency. Our continuity plans include the ability for our employees to begin telecommuting in the event of an unexpected emergency, such as an H1N1 pandemic."
—Lynn Ann Casey, CEO
With heightened concern for the flu season this year, Arc Aspicio is reimbursing flu shots for every employee plus one additional person.
The company also strongly encourages personal preparedness for employees and offers an annual Emergency Preparedness Bonus for each employee to use towards an approved list of emergency preparedness tools and resources.
